Sture Wikström was a Swedish painter and graphic artist born in 1921 in Stockholm. He studied at the Ecole Nationel Superieure des Beaux Arts in Paris, and took study trips abroad travelling in Europe and Africa. He is best known for his still life and landscape paintings. He produced a number of public art pieces including large stone mosaics at the Gävle Savings Bank, and at the courthouse and Town Hall in Västervik. His work is represented in Museums in Sweden, as well as numerous private collections.
On the reverse of the painting there is an original newspaper cutting of the artist.
