Bente Bjerregaard, is of Danish origin but lived most of her entire adult life in Sweden. Her artistic training began inCopenhagen and later at the Forum School of Painting in Malmö.
Her main inspirations include Paul Cézanne, Karl Isakson and Henri Matisse. However the Danish Edvard Weie and the Gothenburg painter Alf Lindberg have also been noted.
Her dynamic use of stroke and colour challenge the laws of both nature and painting.
